Site Tour 1: Austin Hospital and Royal Talbot Hospital

9.30 am Presentation/Tour (Austin Hospital

Austin Hospital is a teaching hospital with 64 staff at Austin Repatriation. They specialise largely in acute work - long term - with some out patients.

OT’s work in acute physical, including plastics and hand therapy, neuromedical and aged care, continuing care and cancer, respiratory support service, adult psychiatry and veteran psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry.

The Presentation/Tour will view the department as a whole and present some of the evidence based practice work, quality, teaching and training program and patient appliance centre service.

This tour will feature a snapshot of the driving research - including hand therapy and cancer research - and also the mental health project including the program with Charles Sturt Uni.

11.00 am Morning Tea

11.30 am Presentation/Tour (Royal Talbot Hospital)

This visit will feature a general tour of rehabilitation facilities including the spinal area which is a speciality of Royal Talbot. The tour will be followed by a presentation providing the opportunity for questions and discussion.

1.00 pm Coach Departs for Sofitel
